Inspired by a lifelong passion for astronomy and the unmatched dark skies of Big Bend, Zach founded BBRO with the goal of sharing those skies with astrophotographers around the world.
Zach oversees our daily operations, telescope installations, technical services, and member relationships.
Some of Zach's key priorities are providing genuine, person-to-person support for our members, upholding every aspect of BBRO to the highest performance and professionalism standards, and creating a person-centered, memorable experience for our customers.
John Paul Wiggins
Co-Founder & Director of Engineering
Born and raised in Big Bend; JP has over 30 years of construction experience in the area. He is innovative by nature and passionate about building structures that stand the test of time.
JP oversees the engineering, installation, and maintenance of the observatory's infrastructure.
His dedication and robust building experience enables us to have and maintain elite observatories that perform at the highest standards.
Celina Velez
Director of Business Systems
Celina is the mover and shaker of our team. Her love for organization and the joy she finds in building efficient systems enables BBRO to operate smoothly on the day-to-day.
She oversees our technology and business systems so that BBRO members have a seamless, intuitive experience right from the start.
Celina is committed to continually developing and streamlining our daily operations, tech systems, and member support, to ensure our systems and procedures grow and develop with us.
